Lynn Hiles: Unforced Rhythms of Grace

Listening to Dr Lynn Hiles preach New Covenant truths is like taking gulps of fresh air. A seasoned and captivating public speaker, he unfolds familiar Bible passages to unveil new revelations of God's grace and the reality of living days of heaven on earth.

Dr Hiles, who hails from West Virginia, USA, has a theological doctorate from Vineyard Harvester Bible College and has been in full-time ministry for 32 years. Over the past few decades, he has been discovering and discipling others in grace. He also hosts a national television program in the US, "That you might have life".

Dr Hiles is the author of several books, such as "God's Beauty and the Beast" and "The Revelation of Jesus Christ" (from the book of Revelations), as well as the "Unforced Rhythms of Grace".

"Unforced Rhythms of Grace" is a good choice for anyone starting on their journey of discovering "the grace of God that flows from rest". It's truly a refreshing and uplifting read. The title of the book comes from The Message Bible's version of Matt 11:28-30, where Jesus implores us to "Learn the unforced rhythms of grace."

The whole book is masterfully woven together around the theme of Jesus as our Promised Land, in whom we find  true rest. Dr Hiles brings us through the many miracles Jesus performed on the Sabbath (a big no-no of His time and a violation of the 10 Commandments) — plucking corn on the Sabbath, the man with the withered hand, the hunchbacked woman, the man with dropsy, the crippled by the pool of Bethesda and the man born blind — and unveils so many wonderful revelations of what Jesus accomplished for us at the cross to set us free into new life. Once you start reading, you'll find you can start living and humming to a new beat and melody — the unforced rhythms of grace!

    Jason Gray

It's always refreshing to hear songs written from the New Covenant perspective, and discovering Jason Gray has been a gust of fresh air. Jason hails from Minnesota and was in youth ministry before becoming a full-time independent music artiste. A stutterer, he knows first hand how God is his strength in his weakness. His musical style may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the lyrics and soul behind his songs are impactful and heartwarming.

The first song I heard was Remind me who I am. It is a powerful song about our identity as the Beloved of God — deep down, whatever situation or challenges we're in, there's a deep need in everyone of us to know we are loved and accepted.

Jason gives more insight into his song in this interview"When I'm tempted by sin these days, I can feel beneath it a desire to feel worthy and loved. This desire tells me that I've forgotten who I am and need reminding. I'm learning to run to the only one who can tell me, the One who carved my name in the palm of His hand and gave everything He had so I could be His."
